Full of mud and tiara-less

Hello High Heelers

So, this week I found out that my highly elegant boss, Natalie Maroun, once got dragged through the mud and lost her tiara in one journey. How crazy is that? I can hardly believe it. For those of you who don’t yet have a clear picture of her in your head, let me add some clarity: Natalie has perfect everything (nails, clothes, make-up, hair, shoes, handbags brain cells – the lot!) She is a perfectionist to the finest detail, from top of her highest heel to the tip of her sharpest lip pencil. I am not exaggerating!

The story goes: Natalie travelled to the World Cup Horse Races in Dubai with her ex a good few years ago. And being Natalie, she was representing one of the horses, Victory Moon, which was owned by Mr Ex. His name (the horse’s that is) actually ended up being really appropriate because he won one of the most prestigious feature races of the day, much to their exhilaration and excitement.

Being a fancy event, Nats was dressed to the nines with sky-scraper custom-made stilettos with complicated straps and fashionable fire-decorations. The dress was a stunning Versace which was see-through, revealing her bodice and mini-petticoat. The hair, make-up, nails and toes, I can only imagine, were immaculate. Now – her horse has just won, so she’s jumping up and down, screaming and going nuts. Hard to imagine? Hmmm. Not really.

So in the brilliance of it all Mr Ex grabs her hand and rushes her down towards their winning horse so they can lead it through the victory walk. Being a man, Ex was not in heels (I don’t think – but, perhaps he was!). So he’s pulling and she trying to keep up and he pulls her right into a mud puddle. Natalie gets dunked – heels, Versace and all, into gross, brown, sticky mud. I don’t think I need to describe this part – you can all fill in the blanks with the relevant imagery and heated communication.

Now, to make up for his terrible faux pas (he RUINED her custom-made heels, remember) he promised her a shopping spree for anything of her choice. Big mistake! Natalie took Ex to the Gold Souk to pick her desired item. And guess what it was? A diamond encrusted tiara. Love it! She tried on crown after crown and did the sufficient hair flipping and twirling with each new item until Ex finally put his (non-mud-filled) foot down and refused to allow it. So Natalie lost her tiara. But she didn’t really need one to begin with – it’s always there!

In place of the tiara she was showered with beautiful gifts of designer jewellery from the top creatives in the industry to make up for the double disappointment. Fair enough. If you’re going to get dragged through the mud, make sure you get something out of it.

You know High Heelers, we are all princesses and queens. On days when you get dragged through the mud, remember that you are still a queen among women because your character is royal and your heart is golden. No matter what you have, what you wear, or where you live. You create your inner and outer value and no one can take that from you.

Choose to walk majestically through your life. Put yourself on the throne of worthiness and be the sovereign being you were born to be. Keep your head high this week and walk tall!

Cheers,
Jo
